Lan's Sauce

Label Redesign for a Szechuan Chili Sauce Company

Utilising the illustrations done by the original artists’, I gave the label a refresh. We wanted the label to have a more unique aesthetic, ensuring it stands out from the rest of the chilli sauces on the store shelves.

The Challenge

Introducing new artistic elements while maintaining the brand's identity was a creative challenge. We also needed to distinguish our product in a crowded market as our client expanded across Vancouver. Our goal was to create eye-catching branding that appealed to consumers and made the product easy to understand, particularly for those unfamiliar with chili sauce or oil.

The Solution

To maintain consistency with the original branding, we retained the bold blue colour and the original logo. Responding to the client's request, we integrated a spice level indicator to convey the product's heat level in comparison to future products. For the launch of their new chilli oil, we introduced a distinct colour while ensuring it harmonized within the established colour scheme.

Key Takeaways

Overall this project allowed me to explore 3D modelling and rendering in blender. Being able to show the clients a realistic mockup of the label on the product without having to print it made the process a lot smoother. This also allowed us to start marketing on social media before the product launch.
